Over their years, Radio Shack always offered a rather unique model series in their REALISTIC/OPTIMUS component stereo lines -- a 'mini' system consisting of actual separate-piece units for tuner, amplifier, cassette deck, and speakers that were all scaled about half size than otherwise standard width audio components. They were marketed as a "bookshelf system" and were successful in finding usage as such, being rather good at supplying music for an office or bedroom environment at least, and being able to fit into the decor of such places better than the boomboxes of the same era, which tended to be both louder and gaudier.
This is a Realistic TM-150 tuner, made from 1989-92, Cat. No. 31-1956. Shown here in a desk chair seat, it is a little over 9" wide, its front panel features push buttons for POWER, MONO, and AM/FM and a knob for tuning the full width sliding pointer dial. Pic 2 shows the dial and red STEREO LED lit, with its WALNUT GRAINED VINYL VENEER sticker. Pic 4 is the back, just a pair of screw terminals for an antenna and pair of RCA output jacks.
I'll have to take some pictures..I have a 3 stack that looks very similar but it's Sanyo.
That is in great condition.
