This was wrapped up neatly in a package waiting for me with today's mail, purchased from a common online source where I spotted it recently available. It is an original 1942 embossed steel vehicle license plate from the (US) State of New Jersey, 10-3/4" wide and 6-1/2" tall, lettered "UL 18 F" in yellow on a black background, complete with some authentic rust in spots mostly around the edges where it'd be expected. Overall I think its in pretty GOOD shape for being almost eighty years old?? :-)
I bought it because it is very soon to become mounted to the wall by the driveway outside my carport, where its (only) number 18 just so happens to also be my **house number**...?? ;-) :-) :-) :-)
---------EDIT, a week or so later----------
NEW pic #4 added, it found its new spot outside this afternoon! :-)
Uhhh you know I live me so e license plates! That's a nice one..I believe the UL is Union County
