I received this tucked inside of one of my Great Aunt's comic books. She left her collection to me and this has no notes or anything on it. I collect MAD among other things and I can't trace this one at all. It is directly on matboard. I searched in my local library's books an nothing. Any help?
    .

    Thanks
    Rose

That's the Alfred E. Neuman character from MAD Magazine fame -- only he really was from the turn of the century, and MAD Mag appropriated him. I have seen his face on postcards from the 1910s! read about the history of Alfred, also known as the "What, Me Worry?" kid -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfred_E._Neuman

Rose and MsDowAntiques do you know anything about my Alfred E Neuman photo? According to Heritage Auctions it is the earliest known example of him.
