Somehow I can't usually make myself throw out old music racks even when otherwise reducing surplus organ consoles to disposable pieces...? Here's a couple (there's several more hanging around too) that were handy for pics the other day when they otherwise needed moved. Both are most likely 1940's-50's in age thereabouts.
In the first two pics is one probably made of walnut. It has suffered the retrofit of a fluorescent light fixture in a most rude fashion, where its original wood music ledge was physically sawed away, but still retains its nicely made and shaped brackets on the reverse.
The second two pics are another, likely made of mahogany with a darker stain. Its full wood music ledge is intact even with a very similar light fixture than the other, so the light could have been original equipment on this one. Its brackets on the back have both had their tips broken off, probably where it was not-gently removed from its former location, I didn't do that to it.
Those might be perfect for use on a table for displaying a small painting.
I’m glad you saw fit to save them…along with all the other oddities and treasures you haul home.
