All of these milk-glass PYREX by CORNINGWARE coffee cups survived being tossed around in that curbside china cabinet I picked up the other day -- lots of other stuff gave its life in there but none of these sturdy suckers?! ;-) :-)
They're a matching brown patterned set of 4 plus one of the more squat shape, both common forms for these which IIRC were (are still?) offered along with Corning's CORELLE line of near-indestructable glass dishware. There are also stackable Corelle coffee cups, but the decoration was all the same, also offered in blue and green (and black?) color in the same exact pattern. Besides being marketed for household use, they also found duty in commercial environments.
My Mom had a (-n ever growing) collection of this pattern in blue which would have originated in the late 1970's I think, we used them daily as the excellent everyday durable dishware it is when I was growing up and beyond. After I left her home, every so often I'd bring her a 'new' little stack of whatever odd pieces I'd found at thrift stores since the last time...always made her smile! :-) :-) :-)
