I’ve never seen a koala done in...glass (?) before, even as a brooch they can be a bit rare but also a bit different! I also love his expression- the paw up to his mouth gives him a really cheeky or even shocked look?! I have to know what has him so surprised looking! :D

It's a beauty Jenni, and thank you!
Our poor koalas are under threat. We lost so many in the fires, and continual habitat loss from development threatens so many. Humans are greedy and uncaring of nature and it is so disturbing that our governments take little action to preserve our natural wonders.
This one is as precious as them all.

Thanks Lauren for your fantastic comment, I am glad to have a different animal to show you this week! This koala does look rather like glass but is actually earthenware ceramic, with I think lovely glaze & shiny touches. I looked all over for a glass koala because I adore this animal (had a stuffed one as a girl) and this was the prettiest figure I could find. It is interesting about its paw raised to its face, could be it's about to eat those golden eucalyptus leaves which are a staple of the koala diet

Phil thank you for your awesome praise for this koala, I totally agree about everything & fell in love with this cutie on sight. My pictures don't really do it justice as it's very bright & shiny so I toned down the lighting. Delighted you found it beautiful

Ditto Karen, I'm so happy you enjoyed my sweet koala (I know they are marsupials rather than bears, but they are so cuddly looking that is how we think of them). Your wildlife in Aus is so gorgeous, I was a devotee of the late Steve Irwin's TV show & loved how he introduced your beautiful unique animals to the world. So tragic about the fires & habitat loss, the same is happening to Brazil's Amazon rainforest wildlife, when will the govts start caring & help the innocent animals. Thank you my friend for your heartfelt and always fabulous comment, you are truly kind
