Hi all, I've tried to identify the maker of this hewing broadhead, found in my great grandfather's blacksmith shop in Rhode Island. All I can make out is "cast". Thanks very much in advance!

I tried to edit the photos and change the contrast..it helped a little, but no luck. You might try a pencil rubbing. I've had some luck using that method in the past. Or try an antique tool forum, someone who collects axes may be able to see what we don't? Let us know if you find anything.

Try highlighting the makers name with Tipex. That often works.

Thanks both for your replies. I've also tried to play around with some photo editing and rubbing to no avail. I will check out the Tipex route, in addition to a more specific forum. Much appreciated
