Hi Guys:
This is another one of those tools that my dad kept in that suitcase.
It stamped one time in the metal with what looks like two initials and then the name Schmidt. The first initial looks like the letter f. The second one I cannot make out. I cannot find any reference to this name regarding antique wooden braces online.
Are any of you familiar with this name? It's hard to tell when the name stamped is that of the creator or simply the owner who wanted to make sure his tools didn't get lost.

There is no Schmidt listed in the American Patented Brace Database. If it is the makers name perhaps the tool is from Europe somewhere.
I found reference to a Dieter Schmidt making braces but Couldn't open the article because you had to join the site and pay dues to read the article
