I found this brooch in the junk section some months ago. Now that I find myself stuck in Germany in Isolation due to the f... Corona virus, I find myself going through some old pictures of items I have not posted yet.
This brooch is unsigned and often attributed to Hattie Carnegie. I am not sure if this is correct. The quality of the brooch is fine, but not outstanding. The same applies to the condition. It is a wearable piece - just not for me. I just could not resist adding it to my collection.
Thanks for looking:)
Many thanks for stopping by and loving the brooch, vetraio50, Manikin, raven3766, and dav2no1 :)
Thanks a lot, kivatinitz, Alfie21,fortapache, and kitchenrebeccal1 :)
Mary, I had it with isolation and Covid in general! I think, when/if everything with the virus is over, we will find many people with other medical issues that have been neglected, including mental health problems. I am not working anymore but that leaves me with a lot of time but no interest. Sometimes, even before this problem here in Germany, I find myself just wasting time. It's hard to put myself together and do something productive. It is depressing!!!
Four of my five children work from home. Some take it better than others. My youngest works part time in the hospital preparing machines for dialysis. The shifts are usually 12 hours and exhausting but at least she has a reason to get out of the house. My grandchildren are all less than five years old. They don't remember a time without "bad germs" and masks. That's sad.
With the winter going away eventually and the forth wave ending some when, I hope that you will feel strong and positive! This has to end at one point:)
I deleted your post, but I want to tell you that you are not alone. I find it very helpful, in general, to talk to someone. It is nice to talk to someone about our passion of collecting, but also about some aspects of our lives.
BTW, I am sitting in the Frankfurt Airport, waiting for my flight to Toronto. I finally got a negative PCR test. How everything goes in Toronto remains to be seen. Apparently, every passenger, and there are thousands arriving every day, has to wait to take a PCR test upon arrival and isolate for as long as the results take. And, of course, they have to be negative to get out.
I am home, Mary. I had to take another PCR test when I arrived at Pearson International Airport in Toronto. I also had to isolate for as long as I didn't have the negative test result. I got it on Friday and now I feel, at least for now, like a normal person again. The cases are rising here now, so we will see what the future brings. I am going to stay put for the next few months.
I hope you will have a great Christmas:)
