Found this gown on a second hand sales platform. It is definetly high-end, but it doesn't have a label. I would like to know what kind of designer this could be. Any ideas?
I estimate this dress to be late 60s. It's an amazing piece of craftmanship with an 'airy', floaty drape. Fabric doesn't strike me as silk (but maybe I'm wrong), but it is definetly natural or natural based fiber. It is transparent and printed with this amazing psychedelic floral pattern. On top of that, it is embroidered in silver thread. It closes almost all the way down with fabric covered buttons like a coat (the dress can be worn open). The skirt a full circle skirt. The balloon sleeves have buttoned cuffs. The skirt part is lined with almost neon yellow satin fabric. The top of the gown is unlined.
Any guess about its origin is much appreciated!
I have no idea who might have made this but I agree it's very well made. The detail in the cuffs and placket, the cut of it, and that amazing fabric. It may be a silk/nylon mix? I would imagine something of this quality would have silk in it. Is the lining silk? Sorry, so many questions.
It looks gorgeous on the model (you?)
Very nice ! I would say more 70s however it would still be in style today , The print has come back :-) here is one similar sold in 80s .
