I don't know what this faux leather folio/cover was intended for, maybe it held warranty paperwork for something, or a day planner, or ??? It isn't that big, measuring 5" x 7-1/2" folded, of textured brown leather-ette with the MARSHALL FIELDS logo imprinted on the front. I also don't know how old it is, but it is in excellent condition.

In Chicago, Marshall Fields was a great store.
AnythingObscure, I found something very similar:

Pretty RARE Marshall Field's & Co. Collectible. This is what I believe may be a book cover but can be used for virtually anything! ie: Passport, notes, notebook etc. 7.5"H x 10"W opened 5"W closed. Beautiful vintage condition! No rips, tears or major stain. All seams are in tact. I believe it is leather but possibly a top quality vinyl which they had an inner lining added to protect it.

I don't think it's a good fit for a U.S. passport book, but some of those other ideas are plausible.
