I restored this antique school desk which came from an era when steamboats plied many rivers in the U.S., so it made the perfect “canvas” for capturing a bit of North Central Florida history. The front of the desk has a 1900 photo of the Hart’s Line Okeehumkee berthed at the Silver Springs wharf. I used epoxy resin on the top of the desk to depict the route the Okeehumkee took from the wharf to where the Ocklawaha River connects to the St Johns River to the northeast. This made a great end table and an even better conversation piece.
