I had to post something extra special for my 700th post, & fortuitously, this piece came into my life at just the right time.
A Christmas present to myself, actually bought in person for once, from a dealer who's supplied me with many fine items over the years.
A few months back I posted a fancy Victorian condiment bowl & was pretty sure I hadn't seen another one fancier...until now!
It is made from pale amber glass with unusual applied white threading. The crimped top rim has an applied pincer work crest. Base has a neatly polished out pontil mark.
Even better, it has the original silver plate stand, which is of Australian manufacture, & of a rather unique form.
The decor & finish of this bowl suggest a top - flight maker, as the quality is outstanding.
Not sure if it is of Bohemian or English origin...I'm leaning slightly towards Bohemian at this point.
Very pretty...it looks like branches in a nest.
Many thanks, carmenisacat!
Very beautiful and congrats on your 700th post!!
very pretty...
It just keeps gettin' better!!!
Much appreciated, Scott! The 700th has also worked in neatly with my 5th year on CW as well. Wow, so much has changed in that time for me personally, not to mention for everyone else...but this place has been a rock for me, against whatever life has thrown up!
Thanks also, Glenn12345!
So kind of you to say so, vintagelamp!
