Not really up on my Biblical characters so l require a little bit of help, that's of course if it's a biblical person. The pendant is solid silver and may have some kind of lettering on its rim but not readable.
i haven't got time to look but you can..smiling..later

St. Cecilia,no doubt
Thanks IVAN49 for the love and confirmation also a thank to Vynil33rpm for the love. Neil
Came by to suggest St. Cecilia, but I see you're already there! The organ was a giveaway.
There are many lovely pieces written in her honour as a sort of holy Muse of music. Every time I hear her name, I hear this rollicking little one-minute wonder by Purcell:

P.S. What I really like about your medal is what appears to be the Gothic fan vaulting in the ceiling behind her. This feature is unique to England, so it may possibly indicate an English origin for your medal.
Great information and love rhineisfine thank you. Also thanks ttomtucker. Neil
Besides medals/medallions/jewelry, St. Cecilia also finds her way onto *LOTS* of old stained glass church windows and various other forms of 'religious art', and her name has also been used by publishers of church music in the past. (if not still now?) More than one pipe organ also exists out there in the world with depictions of St.C carved into its fancy woodwork someplace. :-) :-) :-)
Excellent info AnythingObscure. Thank you
Thanks rancherswife for the love. Neil
