I never have been much on art pottery, but this piece resembled some of my art glass-- so I was hooked.
It stands about 8" tall, 3" top diameter and 3 3/4" bottom diameter. Both the top and bottom have decorative ormolu.
It appears to be a quality piece and is in excellent condition.
The interior is the same color as the bottom.
The only markings are the "K 483" on the bottom.
Any thoughts to attribution are GREATLY appreciated.
THANKS TO SARA AND ANNE FOR THE "Boch Freres Belgian vase" IDENTIFICATION-- I APPRECIATE THE HELP.

Thanks lisa.
Anyone have any thoughts on the maker?

Well spotted Sara. I thought too. It's their indisputable shape.
Confusing time period though, trying to fool us with the nouveau colours and beading and very Victorian colours, which deco borrows from, it contradicts my views that it could be as late as 1920's What date were you thinking Sara?
A beautiful vase in stoneware, you are very lucky to have picked it up. I always thought they were German. What appealed to you, the shape or the colour? I'm very interested as to what attracts ppl to their decision of purchase.
AnneLanders, I think you're right about the time period, 1920s sound right. The glaze on the base is very typical of Boch Freres, and I think the original Boch Freres stamp is still partially there, but almost worn away.
hey Scott I have some good news. Your vases younger sister is on ebay at the moment. Thought I might let you know in case you wanted to get close to a set. Only difference is the shape is less bulbous. Was thinking of getting it myself as I collect Doulton stoneware but I'm on a glass mission at the moment...good luck.
Thanks sara and anne-- appreciate the thoughts and information.
Do you have a link to the ebay vase?
scott
lol it'll cost you a finders fee....lol

Thanks for the link anne! It certainly is the same decor and trim.
I was looking for a concrete ID on my example more than buying another, so no ff!
Thanks again.
scott
i posted it more so you had a reference for attribution...if you see it has the full mark, where on yours it has worn away. Although on yours it has some of the mark still on the surrounds so it clearly is B&F. Might come in handy to have for insurance or sale back up.
Glad to have helped. As a stoneware collector I was tempted to buy it but I prefer pairs as they have more value and are rarer... :)
Thanks chall50.
