I love these cool Hudson Terraplane Service signs and we have a couple of them in our collection. This one came from Iowa and is now hanging from the ceiling at the new Lakeside Museum Event Center in Provo. The interesting thing is how few people have any idea what a Hudson or a Terraplane even is/was! Sad for them! Hudson made some beautiful cars in the early days until they sold out to Nash/Kelvinator who managed to ruin them like Studebaker did to Pierce Arrows before them. Bigger fish eat littler fish and we see it happening all around us. Not necessarily good for the consumer.
While the Hudson was a very well known and highly respected vehicle for the many years of 1909-1954 when they merged with Nash the Terraplane was only made from 1932-38 as a lower priced vehicle but those were hard years for the auto industry so they didn’t make it long. After seeing them it’s no wonder why they failed. They were ugly at best!
Count me as one of those that didn't really know -- but now I do -- THANKS, Rattletrap!! :-) :-) :-)
