I've owned this vase for absolutely years...the shop I got it from closed down in the late 1990s so that gives you an idea how long its been in my collection. Yet, for some reason, I'd never got around to posting it here. Maybe it got overlooked because it's not Victorian. Maybe I just always had so many other things to post...anyway, here it is at last.
Back when I got it, my collection was somewhat less focused on any particular era. So I was buying glass from the 1950s/60s as well as 1920s/30s, Victorian, plus whatever else caught my eye.
I actually almost sold this a few years back but held onto it because it does display quite well with my Victorian & Art Nouveau glass. It resides in a cabinet full of 1880s - 1900 era glass & doesn't look too out of place.
The vase is made from a single layer of pale yellow - green opalescent glass with a fine lattice pattern. It measures 23.5 cm tall, 7.7 cm across the top rim, & 8.5 cm across the footed base. Contains uranium & glows brightly under UV light.
Retains the original label - Veritable Opaline De Murano.
absolutely years.. is that like forever ...'-)) nice piece of glass
Many thanks, Shuzbut...yeah, it seems like forever, the rough estimate is 25 years or so. Hell, even two years ago seems like forever now, doesn't it?
