I’m looking for any information about the age, make, or specific purpose for this hand truck. There are no markings on it other than then number 132 on the metal wheels. The hooks are a lot sharper than S hooks would be now too.

Not a hand truck expert, but looking at how the horizontal supports are curved...my guess is a sack trolley..grain, coal, wheat...heavy sacks.

Thanks Dav. I was thinking the curvature might suggest barrels or large bottles but sacks is a possibility too.

That's also possible, normally you see barrel trolleys with 2 forks...but this looks like it could work

      could be bale or bags

No welding, so that makes it pretty old.

The way the spreader is bowed I would guess it was for moving barrels or kegs.

Thanks for the input, everyone. Any significance to the numbers on the wheels, or the sharp hooks? Those can slide around the links and point inward and downward rather than upward and outward as in the photos.

      Possibly 132 mm= 5.197 inches?

I like the idea, Dav, so I checked but the wheels measure 6 inches.
