Here's a nifty item made to secure the fancy hubcaps on your 1970's vintage luxury car! Complete in its box, it is a kit consisting of eight self-tapping 'security screws' with a matching driver to turn them, along with a double sided pictorial installation guide showing how and where to unobtrusively drill holes (!!!) in your car's hubcaps and the wheel behind them to install the screws, thus theoretically keeping anybody without the correct screwdriver from removing them. The pictured wheel covers are an assortment of styles and makes popular in the 1970's, and there is a printed caution to *not* try to use them on a couple of specific 1978 car models for some reason. Pic 4 shows that there is a now faded to mostly unreadable print stamped something on the inside of the cardboard box lid, also a needle-stamped patent number on the flap above that. The box is unmarked on its outside but does look like it once had a paper self-stick label on its cover, now gone.
THANKS SO MUCH to Newfld, dav2no1, Cisum, Vynil33rpm, fortapache, Irishcollector., Alfie21, vetraio50, jscott0363, Watchsearcher, blunderbuss2, vcal, vintagelamp, kwqd, and RichmondLori for all y'all's LOVE ITs!!
One other random detail about this kit could be mentioned - the fact that I wish I'd HAD it by about 1980 or so, when I *did* own a Ford THUNDERBIRD equipped with a set of the wire wheelcovers exactly as shown on the instruction sheet at center bottom. (pic 2) That very set was "lost" to me by some other thieving citizen when I had no choice but to leave my car in a rather remote college dorm parking lot -- if I'd have had these CADILOKs then, I'd probably *still* have those hubcaps, today!! <lol>
