Hello everyone!!
Been a while since I've posted a doorstop. But, I recently came across this cast iron "Rabbit By A Fence" doorstop. This one was made by the Albany Foundry and listed in their catalog as #59 Rabbit By A Fence. There are so many reproductions of this doorstop, but this one is a true original from the 1920's. Though it has experienced quite a bit of paint loss over the past 100 years of it's life, it's still a very fine specimen. It measures 8 1/8" long and 6 1/2" tall. The number 59 and Albany Foundry are still visible on the backside. The Albany Foundry was located in Albany, NY and was in business from 1897 until 1932.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!

Thank you all so very much for the loves, comments and for stopping in!!!
I have always enjoyed your post and all the critters.
Do you think you will be refurbishing the paint on this one?
Thank you so very much Lori!! This one will remain just as it is. I only restore them if they’ve lost all of their original paint and are severely rusted.
Gd for you - sometimes I see people destroy the entire piece by restoration - while there are others who enhance, it's a tough decision, this one I agree with you. Lori
guess the OOOO's are missing from GOOD!.
