JPS was a clever engraver. He mostly copied the works of other artists. From top: Paris and Oenone, ca. 1600, by Cornelis Corneliszoon van Haarlem (1562-1638). From bottom: Mars, Venus and Cupido, 1604, by Pieter Fransz Isaacsz (1569-1625). The mythological references were excuses for showing nudity. The Dutch art market during the 16th and 17th centuries was rife with such "under the counter" prints, a trade often more profitable than painting. I framed the prints myself with Louis Seize revival frames from ca. 1925, found in the local thrift store. The cover glasses had to be washed to get rid of almost one hundred year's dirt.
