Here is a recently acquired item - SHERMAN "Jewels of Elegance" Colour Chart Counter Display . IT MEASURES 8 1/2" X 11"
I don't know the date of this display, however the history of the company ranges from 1949-at latest 1980.
"Back in 1949, Gus Sherman founded his Montreal-based jewelry brand, Sherman Jewels of Elegance, quickly becoming one of the largest and best-known costume jewelry manufacturers in North America. the business closed shortly after his death in 1980,"
Except for the one corner of damage (only one color stone sample missing) this chart is in pretty good condition for it's age and cardboard considering.
nice find..
Wow! And wow again. I have never ever seen one of those. Amazing discovery. Good for you. :) :)
Questions …. Did you find it in Montreal, did it come out of Montreal? Do you think the salesmen carried these? If not, were they department or jewelry store displays? Did the seller know it’s story?
Only saw 2 of these on the Sherman site and they are so desirable, you are ready now to recreate a store display, superb find !~
Fantastic store display !
Daisy1000, I don't know too much about the seller other then he is from Camrose, Canada. I found it on eBay. $20.00 USD. Lori
