This two and a half tall carved naked lady was represented from circa 1950. Also that it was carved from jasper. It must weigh in excess of 50 pounds. Heavier than the sack of dog food I'm used to lifting. I haven't cleaned it. Nor did I notice any signature. . But I have not magnified it and got out my led light to fully inspect it.. I love and collect naked ladies, but I have been unsuccessful searching online for any information regarding this piece. I'm pretty sure she may be my first paid for appraisal. I sure hope I didn't shoot myself in the foot on the dollar amount I paid.
I'm looking forward to reading everyone's comments. . Thank you.
What is the label on top..an auction tag? I love wood carved figures..nice find!
These photos are the exact same that I viewed before purchasing her. I never even noticed the sticker. However I do recall the gentlemen tell me he and his Grandfather bought her at an estate sale over four decades ago. The only other information given to me was that she was sculpted in the mid 1950's.
The sticker was removed before I brought her home. She is carved from Jasper a rock. Not wood. I have not found a signature yet. But in all truth I haven't gotten out my super bright led lamp with my best cheaters either. :)
