Carved Jade shadow box dining table

My mom found this table at a local thrift store. The story was that a man brought it in and claimed his grandfather bought it in an antique store while stationed in Japan. He brought it back with him to the states. We can't find any info on it at all. We know the writing says good luck from Taiwan.
