a glass paperweight, or a paperclip tray, or a soap dish, or ??

It came along with other 'office stuff' so I lean towards the paperweight, but it'd be the perfect size to hold coins or clips or a bar of soap too, or anything else I haven't thought of yet?? I don't really even know which side of it is supposed to be UP...??

Made of sturdy solid clear glass, it is about 4-1/4" x 2-3/4" x 3/4 to 7/8" thick -- just barely thicker on one end than the other. One side ("top", pics 1 & 2) is entirely flat while the other ("bottom", pics 3 & 4) is dished in a little under 1/4" for most of the middle, with a ridged ring around the inside perimeter. I use top/bottom here in my description only because there appears to be the slightest bit of 'desk wear' scratching around that "bottom" edge, while the whole flat side doesn't really show any, maybe suggesting it spent most of its life with the flat side facing "up"...??
