I haven't got a flying carpet, but I do have a turning carpet. A couple of years ago I bought the Kashmir silk carpet, 185 cm x 123 cm, you see on the first photo, at an Internet auction. I placed it exactly perpendicular to and on the much bigger, Chinese carpet you see under it on the second photo. I placed a small table on it's center and two very heavy chairs on the sides. After some time I noticed that the Kashmir had curled a bit and had turned itself a bit so it was no longer at a right angle with the Chinese. I removed the furniture, placed the Kashmir in its original position and put the furniture back. Only to see, after some time, that the Kashmir had turned again. I mean, the chairs are so heavy that it takes two strong men to lift each of them. I know the Orient is full of mysteries, but still, how on Earth can the Kashmir turn under the furniture ???
