Large Scale Ship Model Heavy Cruiser USS Minneapolis CA-36 Palm Springs Air Museum Part 1

This is a WWII era heavy cruiser although it was built before WWII. I found it an interesting choice for a model as those built later were more heavily armed. Heavy cruisers like this had nine 8" guns in what would be called a 3 gun turret. British and German cruisers had eight 8" guns in 2 gun turrets. Light Cruisers had 6" guns but carried 12 to 15 of them.
The 5" anti-aircraft guns are in open mounts as opposed to the later cruisers and US battleships like the Missouri which will be seen later.
