I have a black velvet painting that I inherited & know nothing about ?? It is a total mystery to me ! I do know it’s from Mexico late 50’s or 60’s . If anyone can help with artist & date that would be awesome .
    Sincerely Salvador Del Rio

      Hi, salleanna. :-)

      About velvet painting:

      https://www.collectorsweekly.com/articles/velvet-underdogs-in-praise-of-the-paintings-the-art-world-loves-to-hate/

About paintings of big-eyed children (I don't know how missed this faintly horrifiying story when it first came out):

      https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2014/oct/26/art-fraud-margaret-walter-keane-tim-burton-biopic

An exhibition of Mexican velvet paintings:

If there's no signature or maker's mark on your painting, it will be difficult or perhaps even impossible to find provenance information about it.

Your best guide: from whom did you inherit it? That is to say, when were they born, how long did they live, where did they live?
