    I needed this little fellow...
Hatpin, 1920, dog, in need of kyratisation ;-D
2.5cm (1") high, though described by the seller as Czech glass charm, he is carved quartz, unmarked silver mount!
He had a chip in the ear, badly glued sulfur glass eyes, lacking a collar tag and above all... Lacking the needle.
I first got rid of the chipped piece on the ear, use Judikins Diamond Glaze to complete the lack and once fully dried, shape it with battery operated engraver stylus. Then gave the frosted effect with fiber glass brush pen.
The eyes are garnet cabs, circled with open jump rings as bezel, glued in the eyes sockets.
Added a little amethyst dangle as collar tag.
The painful part was to get enough room in the mount for inserting a silver tube for maintaining the replacement needle... Used the engraver stylus with grind bits, then a hand drill vise to adjust the tube in the hole. Another open jump ring to finish the end and held all that in place with strong glue.
    Pheew!
Final pic shows him together with the smoky quartz one I kyratised sometimes ago and posted here:

Whoa, this looks like such a hard fix in its pre-fix photos and takes someone patient enough to give the care it needs. These pins are so precious so I can see you undertaking the complicated project, superb work !~

You saved this precious piece to survive and he lucky to be repaired . Very unique hat pin ! I wonder where a lady would have worn hat with him on it :-)
