From the 'I forgot I had this thing' dept:
This is a "MINI MOON" animated light fixture made by CHAUVET. Meant for use at a party, music stage, or dance floor, pic three shows (at close range) the 'beam' it projects of small dots of light, all of which can remain steady, rotate back and forth, or just in a circular pattern (all together) that is also capable of responding to sound. (music) It was (if not *is* still?) marketed as an inexpensive but effective way to create or augment a "light show", of whatever variety.
Because I figgered y'all would like to see, pic 4 shows what's inside. Behind the lens it has a halogen bulb fixed in front of a small dished disk lined with small bits of mirrors. The mirror dish is driven by a little servo motor that spins it, thus creating the moving pattern coming out the front. The mirror/motor assembly is adjustable, to provide a degree of 'focus'. It apparently came with a 2nd mirror dish and a few solid color filters that could be used to change up the show, I don't have those parts so this one only projects white dots unless I'd rig up something else otherwise.
This one is a model# CH-202B, I don't know how old it is beyond the thought that they probably come with LED's nowadays...maybe 1990's-2000's? I suppose since I've found it again, I should think about hanging it up somewhere here along with all my other favorite 'blinkielight toys'...?? ;-) :-)
