I recently inherited my Uncle's gumball machine collection. I've been doing research and trying to figure out everything about it.

I believe this is an Acorn Gumball Machine, by Vintage Oak MFG. I have been digging around but unable to confirm if that's true.
It's baby blue and the paint is in awesome condition on it. I'm just trying to learn all I can about this machine.

    It has 1 key.

Just trying to expand my knowledge on these.

The Oak Acorn. My favorite gumball machine. Yours looks to be refurbished. That's not a bad thing though. The front where the turn handle is and the vending flap have matte finishes. Those are replacements. Originally they were a polished chrome. I've seen some of your other posts and like the Victor Five Star Baby Grand and the Ford machines. But the Oak Acorn is my all time favorite. I have several of them in various conditions.

Your machine looks great. Thank you for sharing.

I'll have to take your word for the replacement parts, it's possible it was refurbished by someone in the past. I removed the old gum in it, cleaned it up, and put RAIN BLO gum in it, which is what is on the label. I thought it would be fun to use it, so it's also in my office.

I was going to post Oak's website, but it's gone. I looked up their business and it seems a different company is at their location in Vernon, CA. They were there a few years ago, so it seems that they went out of business recently. They were founded in 1948 and were thriving in their early and middle years. There are still several websites that sell replacement parts for many brands of gumball machines. Once you get used to it, it is easy to spot older, original parts from newer ones and also the aftermarket knockoffs.
