Beautiful Wood Hand Painted Carnival Carousel Ride Horse Attraction Sign.
35" L x 24" H x 1" D.
Raised Carousel and Animals. ( Bas Relief ).
Believed to be from New England and around 50 - 60 years old. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
This is a modern decorator piece— not an authentic sign.
I first started seeing these in the 1990s.

Scott, thank you for insight here. So this sign was mass produced as a decoration? I couldn’t find it anywhere when searching. If from the 90s it is possible most are still with their original buyers and we will start to see more of them out and about.
No, not mass produced. More of a fantasy piece, with little age.
There were a lot of this type of 3D signs made-- take a look on this site and you will find other examples:

Thank you Scott. I can definitely see the similarities between the carousel sign and the examples you’ve provided. It is an interesting space. Not mass produced but also not what they appear to be. Regardless I really like the look of the sign and will enjoy it hanging around my bar. Thank you so much for your help here.
