Hello everyone!!
The latest addition to my match holder collection is this wonderful Borzoi cigar and match holder. It's made of spelter and is really nicely detailed. In regards to the age of this piece, it would date to the early part of the 1900's. I'm in doubt that the gold color is her original color, but I don't plan on changing a thing about her. This was sold to me as a desktop pencil caddy, but I knew what it was the minute I spotted it. She stands 8" long, 5 3/4" tall and 6" wide.
Thanks very much for stopping in to see my Borzoi cigar and match holder!!!

Beautiful. I like the gold colour as it seems best for this piece. This looks maybe German where you might find things like this and not where I come from which is rather barren to pieces like this. I subscribe to some auctions in Germany which "has wonderful things."
Phil,
Thanks so very much!! I really didn’t know where this piece would have been made, but, now that you mention it, I believe you’re probably right about it being German. I’ve never seen another like it, so I have none to compare it to.
