These are real colors, not stained or dyed. First the honey amber quart jar. The jar was the result of a factory mishap in 1979 at the Ball Okmulgee, Oklahoma plant. The glass melting vat collapsed and contaminated the glass all the jars were destroyed except a few given to employees. The vat was down for around 8 weeks making this one of the costliest jar ever made by Ball. Second the SCA, purple jar also dates to the same time period but is the result of using too high manganese content cullet in the glass batch. The jar started out clear but turned purple after sun exposure. Both jars are in perfect condition and I dare you to find better eye candy.
