5" odd-shaped Singer Limoges plates marked:

    TRIPETTE ET RENAUD PARIS
    "BLUTEX" NYLON

I can't figure out what that means. "Tripette" is a manufacturing company. I have no idea what "blutex nylon" means. Why in the world is this stamped on the bottom? Such a mystery. I'm wondering if these were made to be promotional items for the company. But I can find none other like them. Any ideas?

Thank you for that! So now the connection makes sense. I still have to figure out why it's stamped on the bottom of Limoges plates. Very weird.

Singer Limoges France 1954 - 1974. You will notice on the patent page, it says under patent history..first use 1954. The patent link is actually for a US patent in the 1980s.

Under the patent information is says Blutex is:

"Nylon Screen Cloth Used for Bolting, Filtering and Screen Printing in the Field of Textile Design"

So I assume they were experimenting with screen printing vs hand painted plates?
