Ok..Here We Go..The Eucharist is a emblem that represents what is known as The Last Supper, Found in both the Protestant And Catholic Bibles..Matthew 26:26-29 In the New Testament to be exact.
The Eucharist Congress goes back to 1888.
It is a predominantly Catholic Assembly attended and operated by varied lays of clergy.
New Orleans has had a very strong ties to The Congress for a very long time. Mostly due to the origins of the city's first explorers of the area being the French And Spanish, Whom most were predominantly Catholic.
In Fact, in the mid 1920s, worshippers of the Church to celebrate the Eucharist and its meaning, filled the entire center city park at the time.
In most Churches, The Last Supper is observed by taking communion. How often depends on the Religion of the Church..Some do not observe at all. The act of communion in itself and the Eucharist are sacraments, are symbolic, acts of Faith if You will.

FOOTNOTE: I Am Not Religious..I Am Spiritual..I Judge No One For Their Faith/Belief Or No Belief At All In Any Faith..Life Is Too Short.

      Good Post Vynil,
      Thomas.
