    Contex Flashlight Screwdriver

Bought this weird flashlight today or as the British would say, torch. It's marked British Hong Kong and Contex. I believe this is 1960s?

As a bonus, there was some minty vintage batteries inside. Batteries would be about 1960 to 1970s era? Yuasa C-8501 metal sealed batteries. By Yuasa Battery Co LTD.

    YOU-WHAT-A? YUASA...
The family business was originally founded in 1666 as a charcoal trading business. In 1909, Shichizaemon Yuasa established Yuasa Iron Works. In 1915 they started making storage batteries. In 1918 Yuasa Storage Battery Co., Ltd was established. Not long after, Yuasa Storage Battery Co., Ltd began making Japan's first automotive batteries."

    BRITISH HONG KONG?
Hong Kong was referred to as British Hong Kong prior to 1997, as it was a colony and dependent territory of the British Empire from 1841 to 1997, apart from a period under Japanese occupation from 1941 to 1945.

It’s a wonder they didn’t leak and ruined the inside

Thanks for the comments. I thought it was so bizarre I couldn't pass it up, probably never used. And yes, maybe that "metal sealed" kept them from leaking...they look like new. I got a few more old batteries I found in the workshop I need to post
