I have inherited several beautiful clocks from my father that I am evaluating and trying to decide what to do with.
The most unusual is a a French Empire Period Clock. The front of the clock has a name "ARERA BTE DW ROI" "A Paris".
I cannot find anything about this company. The clock is quite old, and has silk thread suspension of the pendulum, made with heavy brass and "Fire gilding of Gold."
Must unusual is that there are 2 inscriptions on each side in French that were translated by a french friend and say "Honor and Courage for the Unfortunate One" and "Capitulation of Ulm" and the date 17 Aug 1805.
My father was an expert in clock reparation/restoration and this is how I know about some of the parts of the clock. I am hoping someone can direct me to a person, collector, dealer, etc. who knows about French clocks - and possible historical significance.

I would suggest that you register at the NAWCC.org's online forums (https://mb.nawcc.org/) and post your clock there also. Probably the "General Clock Discussions" Forum would be where I would start. Registration is free and open to the public. Beautiful clock. Very well cared for. Good luck.
