    Hello everyone!!
An antique cast iron Bloodhound doorstop from my collection. This one is not only a doorstop, but also serves as a bank. It's the only Bloodhound doorstop I have in my collection. This one was made in the early 1900's, though I don't believe anyone still knows which foundry cast him. It's a two piece design held together with a single screw. These Bloodhounds are extremely difficult to find. This one had multiple coats of thick paint on it when I took ownership. I had no choice but to strip it and repaint it to it's original glory. He measures 7 1/4" tall, 7" front to back and weighs 4lb 1 oz.

Thanks very much for stopping in to see my Bloodhound doorstop!!
    Scott

He appears to be a cast iron copy of Chris Hess's Basset Hound sculpt for Breyer Animal Creations. It was Breyer mold #325, first produced in 1966 by Breyer (in plastic). The Basset Hound mold was also released as a Bloodhound in a different color scheme. More info can be found here: https://identifyyourbreyer.com/identify/Animals/bassethound.htm
