Gold tone and garnet cuff links and tie pin in old plastic brown and clear case. Need help identifying ANYTHING about! :)

I am just starting to get into vintage jewelry and other vintage items. This is the first set of cuff links and tie pin that caught my eye so I had to purchase them! The old plastic case (brown bottom and clear top) reminds me of when I used to dig through my mom's jewelry boxes just to be fascinated by the colors, shapes, and sizes. I hate to admit but I recall as a kid I used to pluck out the gems from mom's jewelry and save them, as if I was some sort of rich jeweler. Sorry mom! It appears these have never been worn and likely never taken off the silky gold/yellow lined cardboard insert. The cardboard is lined on the top for display but underneath the cardboard is just the old cardboard color. These pieces are likely gold plated as they are a shiny yellow color. But, they are relatively heavy and solid. And the stone, garnet?????

ANY and all information about the box, the tie pin and/or the cuff links is welcome in helping me solve this mystery!
I have been searching and researching but have come up empty handed.
