Hello everyone!!
A recently acquired treasure of mine is this pair of bronze dachshunds. These were cold painted once upon a time, but have since lost their paint over the last 100+ years. As you can see, this pair of Dachshunds is chained together and still retains the original chain. Most often the chain is long gone, so I was extremely happy that it's still intact. This is a very small pair of Dachshunds that measure only 2 5/8" long, 1 1/4" wide and stand only 1" tall. This pair of Dachshunds is from the late 1800's to very early 1900's and was very likely made in Vienna, Austria.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!

Very nice detail!
ANIMAL ABUSE!! That there's ANIMAL ABUSE, chaining those poor little babies together like that -- SHAME, SHAME, SHAME on you!!!
;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Somebody call the ASPCA!! (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to ANTIQUES, that is...) <lol>
Very nice pair and cannot be separated unless the chain is broke, wonderful !~
Mrstyndall,
Thank you so very much!!
AO,
Lol!! Yep, I guess PETA wasn't in existence when these two fellows were made.
Phil,
Thanks very much! Very well spoken!! I have a pair of English Foxhounds that are also chained together. I'll post those fellows soon.
