This tool is used to roll the end of the boiler tubes. the tube is first expanded to give it a good tight seal on the wall where the tubes go through.
this beading tool is used to create a rolled edge on the tube ends, thus creating a tighter seam.
If this tool was used properly by a good boiler maker, it would hold tight for some time.
Because of the heat in the boiler and the steam pressure, this procedure must be redone if the tube shows any sign of leaking.
