I *guess* it is a bracelet anyway -- I can't say I know that for sure, but I also don't have any better idea what else it would be . . . ??
It was cheap, and handy, and interesting/unique enough that it followed me home from a junk store without much more thought. :-) It had two cheap 'jump rings' around it with bits of broken former somethings, those easily removed.
It is made from probably stainless steel (it is magnetic, anyway) in a tubular overall shape made up of tiny little rectangular bits all somehow hooked together in a brick-ish pattern of repeating rings that can move and expand and contract lengthways together, in a really weird (and really cool!) snake-like, chain-maille-like combination of ways. There are no discernable 'ends' to it that I can see either, adding to the puzzlement of how it is put together.
Gotta admit, the thing kinda baffles me just a bit, wondering forzactly how somebody somewhere really *did* make it -- but I'm not gonna break it to find out?? ;-) :-) It measures roughly 5" long when elongated but just under 4" when not, so is also actually kind of big for a bracelet, on my wrist anyway. It also isn't nearly as 'heavy' as it could appear 'chunky', only about 8.5g. It *does* seem to be somewhat of a wrist-hair pincher/puller, for what *that's* worth...?? <lol>
I agree with u - it’s amazing workmanship.
And the pulling of wrist hairs…ouch!! I’ve experienced that with necklaces every now and then….it’s maddening to have even one hair being slowly wrenched out by it’s root….but on a man’s hairy wrist?! Torture, I suppose!
