This is a really cute Victorian glass vase that I won last night on eBay AU. As the seller was located in the next town to mine, I was able to pick it up today & save on postage. Pretty sweet!
It is made from three layers of cased glass - clear over white with a salmon pink interior. This shade of pink is one of my favourites in glass, & it is rarely seen, so I'm a happy camper indeed.
The vase measures around 15 cm tall, 8 cm across the turned over, petal - shaped top rim, & 6 cm across the clear applied leaf footed base.
With a trumpet shaped form, the vase reminds me of a Datura, or Angel's Trumpet flower.
There are a few design elements which make me think this may be of English origin, most likely by one of the Stourbridge makers.
First, the petal top rim. Thomas Webb & Sons patented a similar rim treatment, & it was also seen on items by Boulton & Mills & John Walsh Walsh. The applied leaf base, with the inner circlet of upwards pointing leaves strongly resembles those seen on Richardson's Tulip vases.
All in all, a super little find!

Lovely! I agree with you about the tulip vase feet, Marin. The petals are so beautifully formed, too!
