Equine Dental Mouth Speculum or Mouth Gag

Veterinary tool used to brace the mouth of a horse in the open position to float the teeth when they become sharp and cause the animal to lose its feed when being fed due to the sharp teeth. When a draft horse drops his feed due to a sore mouth, they are less productive, and the feed grain is wasted to the floor of the stall.
The vet installs this speculum to the horse's mouth to keep it in the open position while filing the teeth down so the animal can consume all of the oats and stay strong to perform his duties to their fullest.
