These figurines are over 14” tall and at least 4” wide. There are no markings on the base. These came to me when my mother died. They were given to my mother from her grandmother. I can’t find anything like them on the internet. I’d like to know how rare or special they might be.
Are the bases solid or hollow ? From what I can see I imagine the bases are filled in.
Chalkware does not have a big following in these times. Figures like this in metal are not fetching dollars anymore either. Bronze or marble in these clothes would be on the bottom of a desirability for these figures let alone chalkware.
Thank you for your comment. The bases are filled in. I’d like to figure out where in Europe they were made and hopefully a time period. I was told that my great-grandmother brought them over here when she was a girl.
Very beautiful faces :-) They look French to me . Just my opinion .
Manikin, thank you! I think so too. These figurines have beautiful detail. The clothes look like something from an old French movie.
Very spectacular pieces!!
Thank you! It sure has been difficult to find out any information about them.
