    Game bird plaque.

Very large in size— about 18” X 12” with a weight just under 8 lbs.

    Excellent detailing to the bird.

Signed “P. Comolera” in red paint. A French artist.

Parts appear to be bronze (beak, feet) while the body has a silver hue to it.

Thoughts on the metal used to cast is appreciated.

My plaque and my photos, do not copy or use in any manner without permission.

That's beautiful Scott!! I have a game plaque from the 1800's and the game on it is cold painted spelter. Yours however, is a much higher end piece and appears to be silver plated bronze which was very commonly done on high end objects back in the day. That would explain why a bit of the beak is showing bronze.

Got a pair of these… knew the size when purchased, but really surprised at the size when received! Really huge plaques!
