I recently found this lovely little brooch while thrifting. I am thinking the stone is Garnet, maybe...I don't know. It has a hallmark. I could make out the RA, a lion, lowercase g, and the same design on either side of the stone. I thought they may be acorns. It's made of Sterling silver. If anyone can assist, I would appreciate it.

The figures on the sides of the stone are thistles, the national flower of Scotland.
      Perhaps the hallmarks are Scottish.

Thank you Newfld and Watchsearcher. You are correct Watchsearcher. When I googled RA, the search was sending me in that direction. I will find it again and add the name.
