***Found a few other pieces that gave the clues to the mystery. This center section is not officially been ID'ed but I think we can associate it to HOFBAUER. ***

Approximately 3 5/8" wide top
2 1/2" to top birds
1 1/2" to to of glass
4" wide at base
I picked this up with a 500+ lot of glass I recently purchased. I'm not sure what it is? It has a dished area...I added a ball bearing to show the dished area. I had an idea it was a top to another dish? Or maybe a stand alone piece? Seems like an odd piece.
If you have ideas, please tell me. I've found nothing so far...
the rim surrounding the concave center looks to accommodate a cover or dome or hurricane chimney similar to the caged bird and hurricane candle stand. possibly a gowith piece by another maker
It reminds me of all the alabster versions with similar birds, priceless that this was made, and of course I hate it, but that would be me with my jelousy factoring in !~
