Hello everyone!!
A recent find for me is this antique Springer Spaniel retrieving a rabbit. This one is very nicely detailed and was once silver plated, but only traces of the silver plating remain. This piece was made by Jennings Brothers around 1910 and is marked "JB 1659" on the inside of the dogs' hind quarter. This one measures 5 1/2" long, 3" tall and weighs 11.5oz.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!

Very nicely modeled even though the rabbit never fared very well !~
Beautiful hunting sculpture Scott, the artist really captured the moment of retrieval with the dog & rabbit - it's fabulous!
Phil,
Many thanks!! Yes, that poor rabbit did not fair well at all.
Jenni,
Thanks very much!! The artist did indeed capture every aspect of this retriever.

Eileen,
Thanks very much!! We never had and Springer Spaniels, but we had Irish Setters when I was a kid and they were the only hunting dogs we ever owned. Never used them for hunting, but bred them to sell.
